Fanny Arenas

District 5

Appointed 2021

Fanny has been living on the Central Coast for over 20 years. Originally from Mexico City, Fanny has a special place in her heart for the Spanish-speaking community. She learned English at the age of 7 and she knows how hard it can be to not know the language and be in a completely different country.  Her goal is to reach out to those who are underrepresented in the county. Our minority friends need to know that there are resources available for them within the community. Fanny is a Digital Marketer and a business owner. Besides giving back to her community, she also sponsors a child from Mexico through Child Fund International. She has been a sponsor for the past three years and counting. She is a regular at the blood bank and currently works as an Executive Assistant at an agricultural research facility.  Her next goal is to join the San Luis Obispo County Community College District (SLOCCCD) Board Equity and Diversity Training Task Force. If you are ever looking for Fanny, you can find her and her son eating their way through Downtown San Luis Obispo.
